Will Eisner

Will Eisner was one of the legendary pioneers in the comic art field. Whether it be for adventure, action, mystery, autobiographical, or other genres, Eisner knew how to weave a tale with insight and intelligence. Since early on in the Golden Age of comics, his storytelling abilities had a profound effect upon shaping the canon of the artform. Eisner's The Spirit was innovative with layouts and design, advanced the techniques of creating atmosphere and tension, had cinematic action that leaped off the page, an almost poetic visual narrative, and featured characters with enduring personalities. Eisner's influence lives on through his artwork and his body of classic works.
